Vegetables Necessary to Get Relief From Arthritis Pain

A person who is suffering from the pain of Arthritis can go through several other health issues that can make his/her professional and personal life tough. Arthritis is a condition that causes inflammation in joints and can affect one or multiple joints. The two most common types of it are osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

So, to prevent this condition you can take green, leafy vegetables such as broccoli, spinach, kale and Brussels sprouts. All these ingredients are loaded with antioxidants and vitamins A, C and K, which protect cells from free-radical damage.  These eating items are also high in calcium that helps in making bones strong.

Broccoli and cauliflower contain a natural compound called sulforaphane. According to some researches sulforphane blocks the inflammatory process and slows cartilage damage in osteoarthritis.

Sweet Potatoes, Carrots, Red Peppers and Squash :

The red and orange colour of vegetables is due to carotenoids like beta-cryptoxanthin. Plant pigments also supply sweet potatoes, carrots, red peppers, and squash with antioxidants. According to some researches if you take food that is rich in beta-cryptoxanthin could reduce your risk of developing RA.

Taking these vegetables is also good to reduce inflammation and making joints strong.

Ginger and Turmeric :

When it comes to relieve the joint pain, ginger and turmeric are the best choices. These two spices contain beneficial phytonutrients that can have powerful effects on health. Both ginger and turmeric have anti-inflammatory effects so, good for the treatment of Arthritis.

Dairy Products :

If you are the lover of dairy products such as curd, cheese and milk, it’s really good for your bones. Dairy products are enriched with calcium and vitamin D and both are good to increase the bone density and make your body strong.

Vitamin D is important for calcium absorption so, you must take oranges, mushrooms, soy milk and cheese as these are high in vitamin D. These food items are helpful in osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.

Green Tea :

Green tea is loaded with polyphenols and antioxidants so, helpful in reducing inflammation. In some studies, it has been found that antioxidant (epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) in green tea blocks the production of molecules which are the main reason for people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

For the better results, start having one or two cup of green tea daily.
