Outstanding Home Remedies for Shoulder Pain

Anyone can suffer from the Shoulder Pain so, it’s important to treat at the right time before you start suffering a lot. Once your shoulder starts hurting, it can be tough to perform other activities.  It is not necessary that old people suffer from the joint pain; a person of any age can go through it. A person who uses laptop, tablets and smartphones is more prone to this problem.

Besides this, various other situations can increase the shoulder pain. The main cause for the shoulder pain can be an injury to soft tissues and muscles within the shoulder. Other reasons for shoulder pain can be arthritis, a broken shoulder bone, frozen shoulder and spinal cord injury. Certain diseases associated with liver, heart, and gallbladder can also cause shoulder pain. But, whatever the reason is a right solution should be there.

So, here are some home remedies that you can use to get some relief from shoulder pain.

Cold Compress :

A cold compress is highly effective to relieve shoulder pain. The cold temperature helps frozen area, which results in the reduction of inflammation and pain.

For this process, you have to ice cubes in a plastic bag and then wrap the bag in a thin towel. Now place it on the affected area for 10 to 15 minutes. Repeat the process for 2-3 times daily for a few days.

Besides this, you can also soak a towel in cold water and place it on the shoulder. One thing that is important to do not to place ice directly on the skin as it can cause frostbite (A condition in which skin and the tissue just below the skin freeze).

 

Hot Compress :

Just like a cold compress, hot compress is also a right way to treat shoulder pain and inflammation. It is always good to do hot compress after 48 hours of the injury. A hot compress is also the best way to relieve the pain of stressed-out muscles.

You simply need to fill a hot water bag with hot water and place it on the painful shoulder. You can repeat the process until you get complete relief. Instead of doing this, you can stand in the shower and spend 5 to minutes under hot water.

 

Turmeric :

Turmeric is a good remedy to get relief pain from shoulder pain. Turmeric is well-known for its antioxidant as wells as anti-inflammatory properties that good to reduce pain and swelling.

You can simply mix 2 tablespoons of turmeric powder with 2 or 3 tablespoons of coconut oil and apply on the affected area. Rub this paste over the sore the muscles and let it dry and rinse it off with warm water. You can repeat the process until the pain is relieved.

Additionally, you can add a teaspoon of turmeric powder to 1 cup of milk and boil it.  For the better results, honey can be added. Taking turmeric capsules is also a good idea but for this consultation of doctor is necessary.

 

Massage :

No doubt massage is an effective way to get some relief from any type of body pain. A gentle massage can help your shoulder muscles release stress and tension. Moreover, it is also effective to improve blood circulation and reduce swelling and stiffness. For the massage, you can use olive oil, coconut oil sesame and mustard oil.

Massaging with Dr. Ortho oil can also be a good way to get relief from the pain as it is made of natural herbs and treats your pain naturally. For the best results, you can put a warm towel on the affected area after massaging for about 10 minutes. You can massage your affected area daily.

 

Compression :

In compression, some pressure is put on the painful area to reduce the swelling. A compression gives a sufficient support to your shoulder and makes you feel comfortable. You can compress the affected area with an elastic bandage or a warm wrap that you can easily get from the market.

 

Ginger :

Ginger is a good source of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help in reducing any type of pain. In addition, it improves blood circulation that results in quick healing. You can take 2 to 3 cups of ginger tea daily for the better results.

To prepare tea boil 1 tablespoon of thinly sliced ginger in 2 cups of water for 10 minutes. After it, strain the boiled water, add honey and drink it. You can also take ginger supplements but consulting doctor is necessary.
