Essential Oils that can Give Relief from the Joint Pain

Joint pain has become a major issue among people of almost all age groups.  And to get rid of this problem they try various techniques. However, it is not necessary that all the methods are effective; some of the techniques that you choose only give temporary solution.

So, to get a prolonged relief it is necessary to choose such method which can reduce the pain in natural way. And for this purpose no other option can be much better than relying on Ayurveda. In the Ayurveda, such essential oils are mentioned which are highly effective to give relief from the joint pain.

Lavender Essential Oil :

Lavender is one of the most well-known essential oils for pain relief. Because of its active sedative compounds, it has been used for centuries for joint and muscles pain relief. Moreover, it also contains anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, which makes it a better choice to get rid of joint pain.

This essential oil is gentle enough so can be used directly on the affected area. It is not necessary that lavender oil needs to be mixed with other oils. You can directly apply it on the skin without worry of irritation. For the better results you should massage the painful area daily. Alternatively, adding 10 -15 drops of it in water and taking bath is also a good to way to relieve the joint pain.

Turmeric Essential Oil :

Turmeric has been used for more than four thousand years in India. Turmeric is used not only in India but also in other countries as a spice, a dying agent and a holistic healer. Turmeric is one of the most used herbs in Ayurveda because of it anti-inflammatory properties.

Turmeric essential oil is enriched   with anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antioxidant, antimicrobial and antiviral properties. It is also known as a good agent to relax the body. For the healing massage, mix 4-6 drops of the oil with carrier oil like Coconut, Jojoba and Moringa. Massage for 15-20 minutes daily for the best results.

Rosemary Essential Oil :

Rosemary is one of nature’s miracle plants. With its mildly evergreen, earthy aroma and high levels of naturally produced oil in its leaves it is considered as one of the best choice s for the joint pain.

It is quite high in antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic properties. One well-known antioxidant Carnosol makes it one of the perfect choices for the pain relief. Using it as a massage oil daily 15-20 minutes can give you enough relief from the severe pain.

Peppermint Essential Oil :

Pepper mint oil is another better choice to reduce the inflammation in joint pain. Its active ingredient menthol acts as both an invigorating scent as well as an antispasmodic and mild analgesic. These properties help in reducing pain, pressure and tension.

Its cooling effect relieves and soothes tired and sore bodies. By relaxing your body it also works to keep your mind calm. So, for the better health benefits, you should apply it on the affected area.

Sesame Oil :

If you are suffering from the joint pain, applying sesame oil on the affected area is also a good way to get relief. This essential oil is a natural anti-inflammatory agent. In Ayurveda, massage with warm sesame oil is recommended to strengthen the bones  and muscles. It is also a good option to increase the flexibility of the joints.

Besides this, it helps in protecting joints from oxidative stress. The patients with Arthritis can use it daily 2-3 times a day for the prolonged relief.

Flaxseed Oil :

Flaxseed oil is a rich source of healing and anti-inflammatory compounds. This effective oil contains essential fatty acids specifically, omega-3 acids which have the capability to reduce inflammation in joints and muscles.

Moreover, it also enriched with fatty acids, fibers, phytoestrogenic lignans, proteins and antioxidants. All these wonderful properties of Flaxseed oil makes it a remarkable choice to reduce the pain of joints.
