Young Age and Arthritis
Whether it is Arthritis knee young age? or Arthritis wrist young age? or Arthritis neck young age – All of these problems have begin their journey in inflicting young people with arthritis. Don’t be surprised if one of your colleague or friend (in late twenties or early twenties) complains of having joints pain.
What is Arthritis and what are the early symptoms?
Arthritis refers not to single disease but refer to group of more than 100 conditions which can lead to joint pain. Arthritis is basically inflammation of joints which makes the joint look swollen and gives you constant nagging pain. Mild form of Arthritis starts from pain and can lead to chronic form of Arthritis which can lead to damage to tendons, ligaments, cartilage and bone.

- Joint Stiffness
- Joint Swelling
- Joint Redness
- Joint Pain
- Loss of range of motion of Joint
These Early Signs and Symptoms of Arthritis should not be ignored. As the times have changed, so is the scenario of health problems. Arthritis too is one of the health problems whose trend has changed sharply as we stepped into 21st century. High paced digitalization started in late 1980’s. With digitalization, came sedentary lifestyles-Everyone gripped onto laptop and smart phones screen. Outdoor activities took a pausing break-affecting your joints health (hence-as assumed-what came into picture next was-Young Age and Arthritis).
In UK (United Kingdom) itself, around 15000 adolescents and children were inflicted with Arthritis. Well this number though seems small, but the quantitative representation finally leads to qualitative representation(Even if only one young person is affected, that directly puts the burden on that one percent increase in diseases which affects young people).
Have you heard the term- Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (or JIA)..?
It is a catching term these days. When an individual catches up arthritis before the age of sixteen years and the cause is hardly known-it is commonly referred to as – Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.
Actually, when mild arthritis (usually ignored) – takes the chronic arthritis form, it happens to be called Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. The symptoms of Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis include all the early signs and symptoms of Arthritis which lasts for more than six weeks in continuity.
When Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis gets worse, it can also lead to-
- Fever
- Fatigue
- Rashes
- Weight Loss
So, it is better to note early signs and symptoms and start First Aid Treatment and note down some precautionary steps to be taken for joints pain. The first aid joint treatment for young people includes the following –
- Eating healthy balanced diet
- Regular Exercise
- Awareness of joints Pain and Symptoms (so that it can be easily prevented at earlier stages)
- Balancing Emotions (teenage phase boosts up sudden emotional stages like anger, hyperactivity)
- Simple Pain in fingers or wrist should not be ignored (Over-Texting through Smartphone phones-Hello text lovers, be aware)
- Don’t confuse Sports Injury with Joints Pain
- Treat your sports injury as soon as possible
